One summer day I was walking down the street and my gaze was caught by a luxurious apricot tree lying in the mud near the gate of a private house. Next to it I saw its no less luxurious girlfriends. And they touched me so much – so beautiful, so useless. I live in the city of Krasnodar – this is the south of Russia, and such a situation with fruits is common here. And I wanted to highlight these treasures, draw attention to them, emphasize their juiciness, beauty. Watching plants, I often think about what a huge job they do, and how incredible it all is. Flowers appear from bare sticks, then leaves and fruits. And, understanding what titanic work the tree did to “make” the fruits, I cannot look at abandoned fruits any other way than at unappreciated jewels in the city mud.
