First the project was conceived as a depiction of a postapocalyptic world populated by heroes of Russian folklore. But as the work progressed, this world began to take on the outlines of deeper experiences and serious themes.
Night falls and sticky twilight descends on the desert. In this cozy darkness lives the Rolling pig, who waits for travelers and then rolls them into a flat cake. This story was told to me by my friend Dasha, and to her by her grandmother Dasha.
