EDUCATION

Marina Dubich

I was born and live in the city of Krasnodar. I specialize in painting, illustration, graphics and design. I am a crazy flower girl, who grows a jungle at home.
In my works the leading role is usually given to the literary component, with the plastic idea adapting to it.

My art is escapist. I created a world called Honey Postapocalypse and successfully isolate myself in it through paintings and graphics. This world is safe, warm and sticky. It is inhabited by various fictional creatures: witches, squirrels, all sorts of evil spirits. They are imperfect but cute in their own way.

When painting, I like to combine different techniques. Rivers of paint solvents make their way through oil mountains and scratched prairies. I often give preference to strong, bright colors.

For graphics I use a tablet, immersing myself in work for many hours in a row. I slowly and tediously draw textures and create stories. For me, this process is capturing an idea, conveying black and white photographs from an imaginary world.

The purpose of my work is exploring the good and evil, light and darkness in humans. Through my art I reflect on accepting all the possible sides in others and myself.
