EDUCATION

Marina Dubich

I was born and live in the city of Krasnodar. I am engaged in painting, graphics, illustration and design. I am a crazy flower girl, I grow a jungle at home.
In my works, the first role is usually given to the literary component, the plastic idea adapts to it.

My work is escapist. I invented a desert world for myself called Honey Postapocalypse and successfully isolate myself in it through painting and graphics. It is safe, warm and sticky in this world. Various fictional creatures live there - witches, squirrels, all sorts of evil spirits. They are not ideal, but, in their own way, cute.

In painting, I like to combine different techniques in one picture. Rivers of solvent make their way through oil mountains and scratched prairies. I often choose open, bright colors.

I draw graphics on a tablet, immersing myself for many hours in a row. Long and tediously I draw textures and come up with stories. For me, this is a fixation of an idea, black and white "photographs" from an imaginary world.

I consider the main idea of my work to be the study of questions of good and evil, light and darkness in man. Acceptance of them in people and in myself.
